A nitrogen fixing plant it helps nourish the soil. Bees love the nectar and it can be used as an animal fodder fresh or dried. It has a use in medicine including relieving the symptoms of menopause and as a skin wash for acne, but can cause problems for certain user groups (eg: pregnant women, heart patients etc due to the oestrogen) so consult experts. A small amount of red clover tea (made from the flowers) is helpful to alkalise the body (as opposed to acidify it) and good for detox. Pop a couple of flowers in your salad too.
